5 things Misa has been busy with and why you should care

Okay, the title is just trolling you all. I bet you all clicked because you really thought I was going to write about it. In fact, most posts I see with a similar title never actually gives you anything in relation to the actual title itself. But I will prove you all wrong.

Just kidding. This is a really old draft that I found because I couldn’t be assed typing anything new. But nonetheless, I think anyone can still relate.

Firstly though, Valentines – what was Valentines. I think I put too much emphasis on it. Well anyway, I think I was probably spoiled during Christmas. So folks, don’t put too much into Valentines! As in, there are more important/ significant days in the year to celebrate.

01. Work.

Yes, work. I’m sure you’re all sick of me talking about it, but what can I do? I go to work 5 days a week and there are only 7 in a week to begin with. Work has its cycles on me – I can go turbo for a week or two and then after that I get so exhausted I barely make it through on the bus(es) back home. I used to think that there was something wrong with me because I just couldn’t keep my eyes open… now I’m just starting to think I’m just really tired and it’s probably a sign that I’m actually sleepy.

02. Getting my health back on track.

So I switched my GP (ie. general practitioner, doctor – whatever you want to call them). My previous GP was an elderly man – he’s still got it okay, getting a needle from him doesn’t hurt at all. But he’s starting to lose it in the respect that he’s just too old. He can’t really tell if you’re okay or not, and I think as a doctor he’s a bit too optimistic like “there’s no way you can get that, you’re too young for it”. I just think he’s too preoccupied with his own health concerns so he just doesn’t get into the details for you.

The first thing I did was get a blood test from the new GP and when the results came back I was so surprised that she told me it was no good having zero immunity to diseases such as hepatitis. Well, fair enough. I always had one other thing on my mind – and that was the fact I never had chicken pox. So again, zero immunity since I was not vaccinated against it.

So here I am, after several visits (almost once a week) I’m getting myself immunised. I know it costs money and it’s literally a pain, but I think if you’ve got some time, do think about it as it’s quite important.

Oh and the good news? Apparently everything now is normal. I was low for iron, vitamin D and pretty much everything really – but now they are all normal figures which is pretty good.

I’ve also paid more attention to my skin. I’m definitely drinking a lot more water and I’m monitoring my skin. I was super lazy for a year or so and pretty much ruined it – my persistent blackheads and occasional pimple will continue to drive me insane, but now I can see fine lines under my eyes (ie. one line per eye). This is actually pretty normal, but I was hoping I’d be one of those never-grow-old people you only read about in fictional novels. Guess it’s time to work harder. I’ve also rediscovered the joy of actually buying things from actual beauty counters and whatnot – I tried to avoid them as much as possible knowing that Australian prices are hefty in comparison to overseas pricing. That and I know I will buy unnecessarily because of “gift time”. Now that the Australian dollar has dropped so much it breaks even again, so whatever. And as for the gift time seduction? As time goes by, I have trained myself to have excellent (yes, rare use of a superlative there) restraining skills, simply by telling myself I still have stuff, unused in my cabinet somewhere.

I’m going to get the other three wisdom teeth that I have out at the end of the month (yay for Easter holidays covering up my lack-of-sick-leave-holiday-leave-ass) – yes, all at once, so I will have a tough time. Given we will be catching public transport, I’m not really sure if I will be up for it – but I think I rather do that, than ask Monsieur to pick me up, and probably laugh at my swollen squirrel face.

03. Binging on (Korean) dramas – and then giving them up

Not-so-recent dramas I watched, because this draft is so old it will celebrate its birthday soon. Skip these if you don’t want any spoilers – most likely I won’t reveal everything, but just general thoughts.

High Society (SBS)

I wanted to like this so much but Sung Joon is like trying to eat a rock hard rice cake straight out of the freezer. How can he be so dull? With barely enough screen time and development for the main couple, the drama instead pumped out crazy amounts of screen time for the second couple (which by the way did a great job in terms of chemistry and acting and visuals); the drama just had too much left to be desired. It also felt like it was cut short at least 4 episodes – no insight on the company’s future, what happened to evil noona and did oppa win?? Seriously??

Most importantly, what was the message the drama was trying to convey? I think it was really weak in sending out any message at all.

Heartless City (JTBC)

This is an older drama but after watching Falling for Innocence and unexpectedly enjoying Jung Kyung Ho’s character more than I had expected (I watched it for Yoon Hyun Min and Kim So Yeon, actually) I decided to give Heartless City a go. And I was overwhelmed.

All that gangster and underworld goodness – this is like my type of drama without doubt. I can’t say it was perfect, but it was still pretty good. All those fight scenes – how can someone be so calm and walk away and not get caught??? It was so good I’d watch it again.

I’m Sorry, I Love You (KBS)

Yes, another old one (mostly because I’m on a Jung Kyung Ho marathon). I tried to watch this about 5 years ago but could not understand why anyone would watch it or enjoy watching it. I can’t remember if I was watching it from a VHS tape or just a really bad quality clip, but the sound was quiet, the picture blurry and the subs just difficult. I just don’t know, but maybe I wasn’t into it enough. I gave up after one episode without really knowing what I just watched and left it.

Having said that still so many people say it’s so good it’s so good and that it’s a classic and too many variety shows make references to the most classic lines in the drama. I decided that now that I’m older I am mentally prepared to watch it. And I must say, it’s actually not as bad as I thought. I thought that one line would be spoken per 10 minutes… and most of the frames would be stills… but not. Well, I guess not, because I enjoyed it.

But if you want to know my random train of thought, it mostly went like this: Oh hey, Flinders Street station! Wow, 10 years ago Australian money and the money is still the same as now. Where did they get these people from to portray Australians? Where is this club? Why is this western guy holding his cards the other way?* When is he going to get rid of that horrible pornstache???? His teeth really haven’t changed in 10 years – wait, they are laminates? Wait – laminated teeth existed 10 years ago?

*the actor was holding his cards so that 3 of hearts etc was facing outwards… usually you face that to yourself and not show others…

Well it’s a classic. Classic acting, classic lines. Dramas aren’t like that these days – it’s a shame. There are so many emotions you can convey without saying anything, but these days, they choose to speak rather than act. Less is really more in this case.

I’ve still got several hundred (yes that’s right) episodes waiting for me to wait. That’s several hundred hours considering each episode is an hour long. I’m not sure if I will ever have the time, or if I will ever get through any of them, but I shall slowly and eventually when I can.

I stopped watching Korean dramas for a while because I was finally prepared to buy a tv aerial cable (yes, I know you guys are all thinking “but who doesn’t have a tv cable?!“). The story was we had a new aerial line installed (this was a whole building thing) and it came with a new head/ adapter meaning we needed a new cable. I know this probably sounds boring as shit, but hey, I deal with cables almost every day now it’s like mainstream to me. Anywho, cable in, and then sudden marathon of all day Food Network and occasional commercial tv. I think I enjoy Cutthroat Kitchen a little too much for my own liking, but that’s what’s been holding me down.

Due to my upcoming holiday (which, by the way, is going to be to Tokyo, Japan, omg how exciting I’ve never been and finally will go etc etc) I have decided to stop watching Korean shows because I will get all of my languages messed up (as if they aren’t already messed up as they are now).

9 Ji Kara 5 Ji Made (From 9-5)

So I have a real weak spot for Yamashita Tomohisa and decided to watch it. Apart from the usual “starring Yamapi…. as Yamapi” and admiring his tan/ black hair for once etc, the show was just fluffy and all. Guys like him really don’t exist, and if they did, got nothing to do with me. He was a really sweet character though – as if you wouldn’t get pissed waiting a whole day. I get pissed waiting 30 minutes, so…

4. Thinking of ways to rule the earth

Half kidding, but also true. I really need to find out ways to basically live smarter, but not harder. Until I figure this out, life will still be hard. But I will think about it and one day, just one day I know I will figure something out.

5. Cooking

Food Network is excellent for this, I must say.

Because Monsieur (to my mum anyway) is an emaciated mess (not really, he just owns a metabolism akin to a black hole) I have been trying to play my role of nutritionist/ sneaking in extra calories/ making sure he gets meals on time. He is incredibly busy, and I know the feeling. He is basically what I was when I was in uni, and I know it’s impossible to juggle lifestyle with the amount of work you need to process and pump out. I’m trying my best to help out – not sure if it’s really actually helping or not, but I try. So far, I haven’t made anything inedible. I kid. I’m a kitchen Midas – everything I touch turns into rainbow unicorns.

I am planning to move out some time this year, so I will need to do more cooking. I have made a huge improvement though, from taking an hour to prep and cook a meal – but now within the hour I can make several things, including the meal and tomorrow’s breakfast and lunch. I’ve become more efficient and I kind of like that.

So um, I know my last New Zealand post hasn’t been out (and it’s been more than a year – trololol) but I maybe…. maybe will post it. Eventually.

Anyways, hope you’re all having a splendid time – until next era,

Love, Misa

Advance planning, temporary sanity, bottomless (deficit) of account (single intended)

Control your time wisely. Running Man joke intended.

It’s been 10 days ages since I updated. Wow. It felt longer than that, because I completely lost track of time.

This is mostly going to be a mass block of text until I find something awesome to post. If you’re bored, you can always just look through my Instagram… even though I don’t really use it all that much.

Just an outdated pic to make this post seem poetic and emotional.

Met up with friends here and there in the past few weeks, so that was good. Sociability restored! I need to do more of that soon, but sadly for me, time is just not on my side. I’m so bad at organising my time… time is precious yet it’s something I don’t control well at all.

So these few weeks I’ve been looking after work, really. Le boss and wife went away on vacation for two weeks so I had to make sure everything was functioning fine. To be honest I’d prefer not to take upon such a big responsibility, because I’m a seriously paranoid person. In that respect, probably I was a good candidate because I was so paranoid about everything – but what can I say? I did my best to keep things normal, and let’s hope that they’re fine with it now that they’re at work after 2 weeks’ vacation. I finally have today off after working 6 days straight, and all I can say is that I’m exhausted. Usually you don’t feel tired if you’re working non-stop – you only know you’re tired when you have time to suddenly stop… that’s when your body tells you it doesn’t want to wake up… and that in fact it is sore, tired or overworked. Body, Y U NO LOSE WEIGHT/ MASS.

I’ve recently discovered that I probably have been shrinking in size… but only my wrists =_= my bracelets are too loose and I have to buy smaller ones now. But whenever I step on the scale, it’s the same heaviness… damn it. It’s such a pain and headache when it comes to these things… I shall continue on my adventure working towards my ideal body type, which I will probably sadly never be able to achieve ;A;

Holiday Planning

A lot of my time these days (apart from 9gagging – go on, I dare you to ruin your life) is spent doing research on Hong Kong. I can’t believe how fast time is flying… literally next week I can begin my duty free shopping… here’s to the death of my bank account.

As I mentioned before, I’m pretty paranoid so I need to know exactly how much stuff is going to cost me, where I can get it, how I can get there, and how long it will take. I know holidays are meant to be stress-free and “take it as it comes”, but I’m just like that – I need to control everything or else I know I will get nothing done. For now, I still can’t decide what bag to take with me (I think that if I carry a big bag on board, it will look soooooo awkward if I take it with me every time I go to the toilet… paranoid much?)… eurgh. Too many decisions to make. I still don’t know if I want to go to Causeway Bay on my first night there… because Forever21 closes at 1am. 1am. I can still make it OMG.

I have over a month to still plan what to do each day… guess I’ll slowly map out a trip for each destination I choose first and then assign them to particular days I’m there. Hopefully.

I’ve also been struggling with “presents” to bring back… I’ve been torn between going back to HK in a glorified manner or a shoestring budget… especially since it’s presents for people – ahem – family who haven’t bought… well, anything for me every time I went back. I finally solved my problem by deciding to buy a gift for the *unknown family relationship* – what do you call your cousin’s kid? Or is there no real relationship? :\ Anyway. I’ve never met or seen (she’s around 14 years old already – holy crap) and getting craploads of chocolate for everyone else. I’m not sure if that’s the best way, but I guess it’ll have to do. I honestly didn’t remember much about bringing presents back to Hong Kong… but now that I recall, we did bring things like toys, chocolates, mangoes… I even remember we brought back flour, olive oil, milk and even FRESH FISH back… but to be honest, I don’t ever remember being thanked genuinely for it… the response was always like “meh, we have that here in Hong Kong.” Eurgh, someone shoot the pessimist inside me! But I decided that I can be pessimistic towards everyone except for my grandma (who did actually prepare the odd present or lucky envelope) and the young (innocent) girl. Everyone else can eat chocolate and get fat. *trollface*

My bank account is forever an abyss of bottomless expenditure. I really really saved up hard for the past few months… BAM, it’s back to square one now :\ I still have a lot of stuff I want to and need to buy, considering I will be able to claim back my GST via the TRS at the airport. (For international readers, we have a tax called GST, Goods and Services Tax – it’s an additional 10% on top of the price of whatever you buy, but usually you will find that the prices you pay already include GST, so it’s not 10%… you divide by 11, if that makes sense. If you spend over $300 in the one shop within an hour or so, you can claim back your GST at the airport for international flights. If your receipts do not total to $300 or more, you will not be able to claim GST.) I’m in a dilemma where I’m like “might as well claim back tax since it’ll be cheaper that way…”- eurgh. I have a feeling I won’t be buying much in HK at this rate… a lot of the stuff I have on mind will be fairly expensive… I guess I will claim tax that way. Oh, and duty free – hopefully they have what I want there!

Exchange your money when the exchange rate is high.

I know this sounds really stupid, but it’s really just common sense.

I admit, I used to not think about exchanging money because if you exchange money at HK, it’s a higher rate… but considering the dollar these days has been unusually high, it’s only a matter of time it will slip. I know it will climb back up slightly, but it’s uncertain – you know what it is today, but you don’t know about tomorrow.

I was kinda lazy a few weeks ago… I had 2 days off and I decided not to go out on my first day and decided to bum around at home… I then checked the exchange rate the second day and it fell 😦 I quickly got myself out of the house and went to search for a place I found via the Internet which claimed to have good rates (or at least other people claimed it was good) – and to my dismay, the place closed down. Trololol – I went up the 18th floor of a building to find an empty suite.

The place next door, however, was still open and is a popular destination to exchange money… most people will know this place. This place is called KVB Kunlun.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Kunlun, but in the short 10 minutes I was there, I honestly wasn’t really impressed. There was a line of about 4 people in front of me, and there were only 2 people at the desk… and they were taking their sweet time doing whatever it was they were doing. I overheard a lady’s query (in Chinese), and it didn’t sound good to me… Kunlun charges a fee of around $10 – $30 (I couldn’t hear the exact sum because I was really far away) if you exchange less than the equivalent of $2000AUD.

Now to be fair, who really exchanges $2000AUD in one go? I mean, if I knew that the Australian dollar was going so strongly, I wouldn’t exchange everything in one go. The lady was exchanging for USD though, probably to make a slight profit or whatever it was she wanted to do, since USD is handy wherever you go. She was only exchanging for about $700 USD, and she had to pay a fee. She argued that the last time she did it, there was no charge – there I was sitting thinking “hurry up, she’s not going to waive you the fee just from you arguing!”.

Here’s another thing – Kunlun makes a profit from the exchange rate, AND they charge you commission/ transaction fee now. *shrugs*. I think that was certainly enough reason for me to stand up and leave the damn place… their customer service isn’t great considering how slow they were working… and well, the exchange rate was crap. The Chinese lady exchanged her AUD to USD for 1.022 when the official rate was about 1.05, so that’s around a 3% profit on exchanging money – PLUS a $10ish transaction fee. I walked past UAExchange in Market City which charged no commission and the rate was 1.026 – even higher than Kunlun, but NO commission. Even so, UAExchange to me isn’t that great – especially when you know it’s possible to find a place which will charge no commission, and only have a 1% difference in the official exchange rate.

Well, I managed to find a place, but that place had limited Hong Kong dollars… only managed to exchange for half of what I intended to that day… but at least I exchanged some money and guaranteed myself that a good portion of my money is exchanged at a highish rate. Yesterday I exchanged some more money seeing that the rate wasn’t bad (even better than the first time I exchanged!)… and I called in advance to make sure they had money in stock. Today, the exchange rate is shockingly low. I kinda regret not exchanging more… but I’m sure that next week the exchange rate will improve a bit more. Or at least return to what it was before – but only time will tell. Maybe it’s even better when I’m about to leave…?

Anyway, my message to all travellers out there is that you should exchange money whenever you feel is appropriate… don’t wait last minute. DO get a credit card with a low rate… I can’t be assed so I’ll be taking my usual MasterCard debit with me which charges a whopping 3% – but that’s because I don’t like credit cards, I like to pay things off immediately without any nasty surprises. It’s just my way of controlling my money… I don’t believe in spending money you don’t have yet… that’s kinda stupid because it’s a trap into debt. That’s what I think, anyway.

Rapidfire random list of stuff going on in life at the moment

  • Finished Dream High 2. Officially wasted 16 hours of my life. Dafuq did I watch?
  • Still haven’t finished Shut up! Flower Boy Band because I just couldn’t be bothered doing so. Kind of strayed a bit far away from what I initially liked the drama for… not sure if I like or not. I will finish it… later.
  • Started Kpop Survival, Rooftop Prince and Fashion King. So far I really like Rooftop Prince – it was a lot more than what I had initially expected. I also literally side-eyed Kpop Survival because it’s aired on Channel A, and its logo looks exactly the same as Dream High1/2… turns out it has a way better story in the first 4 episodes than in the entire 16 I watched for DH2… everyone’s taste is different, but at least the funny parts are actually funny… EURGH. As for Fashion King, I was going to watch it for Yoo Ah In and oogle at Shin Se Kyung being pretty… but in this Shin Se Kyung looks different D: Like, what happened to her face D: I dunno, haven’t brought myself to watch past episode 1 although the first episode was promising. I am most interested in Rooftop Prince and Kpop Survival… more Rooftop Prince though, because Han Ji Min is awesome. And it’s hilarious.
I mean, if it’s possible to watch the drama with your mum, you know it’s good. *shrugs*
  • Le workplace is situated in a shopping centre, and they fixed the speaker thingy and they’ve been playing music 24/7… wait did I write music, sorry I meant to spell out NOISE instead. The music is so bad it makes me feel like I’m working in a fricken nightclub and it gives me headaches because it’s an idiot at a set of turntables doing “beats” and repeating them even though it sounds CRAP. Why would you repeat a melody if it doesn’t even sound good? And they pump it up so loud… can you please play something more workplace or family friendly?! At an appropriate WORKPLACE noise level? I don’t appreciate it and I’m in my mid-ish 20s… let alone seniors, who actually make up a great bulk of customer base. PLAY MUSIC RESPONSIBLY. AND IF IT’S NOT MUSIC, DO NOT PLAY IT.

I will update properly later this week, because I only get to work 4 days for the next few weeks \o/ Having a crapload of days off is awesome. I’ve been kinda lazy doing my Hong Kong research so I better pick up on that and quite 9gag… doubt it’ll happen LOLOLOL. Still haven’t planned any days yet… and to think I can do duty free shopping tomorrow… AWWWWW YEAAAAHHHH. I better get a move on. I’ve decided I won’t be taking my camera with me,  but I will however update my trip quite frequently because I was given a SIM card today which I can use as soon as I step off the plane in Hong Kong. I won’t be doing any live blog posts though, because typing on an iPhone honestly drives me up the wall. I will save that for when I return. For now, I’ll plan what my next post is… and it will be useful, trust me. It’s something I’ve been delaying for a very long time… I’ll get round to doing it… I hope 😉

(I haven’t even posted up my resolutions for 2012… I shall repeat the same resolutions from 2011… if that’s alright with everyone :x)

Just an update.

As usual, I backtrack a lot and a week ago, I wrote this:

My annual leave has consisted me of doing things like sleeping in, properly moisturing after taking a shower, and washing our very very dirty car. Our windows are next. DAMN IT. I’m the only one who cleans the windows 😦 I still haven’t got around to cleaning out my closet and putting unwanted crap away into a large box – I have only gotten so far as to rearranging my bag section by adding an extra box as I decided that I needed a box to encase bags I didn’t want squashed. Called Telephone Banking. Oh, life is so boring.

I went to work on Friday (I sometimes do question myself WAE WORK WHEN ON LEAVE??) so I haven’t really been making the most of my time effectively. Only one more week left – I’ll definitely need to do all the things I need to do this next week – I’ve decided to take hula hooping again because I decided that I haven’t been active enough despite standing long hours at work. I feel really fat compared to this time last year – Why is it so hard to lose almost 5kg over a period of a year and then just to have it all come back!?

Met up with sis, L.

I haven’t seen L in ageeeees. By that I literally mean over a year and a half or something, which is ridiculous, unacceptable, preposterous etc – so we met up.

L is who I’d refer to as my “sis(ter)” and we’ve known each other since high school. Back in those days when we’d stay behind to leech bandwidth and then fangirl over Dir en grey, Vanness Wu or perhaps Gackt or Hyde. Oh yes, those were the days.

L went to work interstate and came back up for the long weekend, so basically we just had to go somewhere in Sydney that was new. We were originally headed for the foodcourt at Westfield, but we didn’t even make it to Westfield LOL – we decided to just wing it at Ichiban Boshi or something – along the way we got distracted by Sushi Hotaru (see how easily we get distracted??) and decided to just go in, not before trying to enter through the back door 😛 😛 😛 😛

So Sushi Hotaru has been a place which has been popping up recently in blogs I’ve been reading and from what I gathered, it’s most well known for everything being $3 unless specified. Yes, $3 sushi. That certainly makes me happy, because I hate how I go to a sushi place and I want to pick up the $2.50 plates, but I try not to because it looks cheap LOL. I guess this place solves all your problems, and the good thing is that they have a good selection, including temaki sushi (a la the sushi that look like ice cream cones) which was all we ordered that day. Their temaki sushi was geeeewd.

Nevertheless, this was the only photo I snapped that day, courtesy of le crappy phone camera – don’t even know how I managed to get the bubbles.

Hotaru – $5.50 @ Sushi Hotaru

L went for the green tea latte with red bean icecream (also $5.50) but I went for the Hotaru, using the logic that it should be the best drink since it’s named after the place (like how the Musashi Blue is the best drink IMO from Musashi *shrugs*). It’s a pretty drink which is supposedly meant to be peppermint and ginger ale, but it really tasted like lemonade, with some mint syrup (that blue stuff) down the bottom. It did come with a lemon and a mint leaf, both of which I did not actively use for ingesting the drink. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed with appreciation either – whatever that’s supposed to mean >_> It was pretty though! Too bad the crappy photo ruins it.

Apart from eating temaki sushi and takoyaki plus gyoza, that was pretty much all we ordered. We had a total of 6 plates between us (1 entree, 2 sushi each) and surprisingly, we were kinda full. With the drink it was like $15 each which is pretty damn good by sushi train standards. I usually walk into a sushi train thinking that I will spend at least $25, but that wasn’t the case. Either way, I was full.

They use iPads to order (yes, those touch screens are iPads which are secured to the wall so that they aren’t stolen), but their system isn’t advanced enough to calculate the bill total (you can always do it in your head, it’s really easy since everything is $3, then you add it to the total the screen tells you, which is the total of what you ordered that ISN’T $3) so you have to get a waitress to count your dishes and you pay at the counter.

Overall it’s a pretty nice place (the service was a bit confusing though, we kept getting our temaki sushi together and we couldn’t figure which belonged to who – so we had to ask – then they had limited English and had to find someone to figure it out…) and I’d probably go back again – soon. If not soon, then whenever.

Half a day wasn’t enough to catch up with L, seriously hope to catch up with you in more detail when you’re back in Sydney, or if I can ever get my lazy self to where you are. We didn’t get to talk about everything – it has just been too long 😦

Now, I wrote something along the lines of this:

WELL THAT WAS AN UNDERWHELMING ANNUAL LEAVE.

Not saying I didn’t do anything awesome or anything – but more like time went by so quickly I didn’t end up doing as many awesome things as I had expected to do. I barely did anything important and I go back to work again tomorrow – TOMORROW! Then it’s another month or two of non stop working 😦 I DUN WANNA WORK T_T

In the midst of my shopping, I somehow got sent a magazine from well, as you can see, all the way from Sweden. I’m not sure if everyone gets a copy or not, but when you start getting catalogues in the mail, it’s about time to just stop spending money – it’s a serious issue >_>

I did actually do a bunch of shopping (be it online or in person), but I most likely won’t blog about any of that until probably later in the year, because I have a lot of random material to blog about in regards to purchases, including this which I bought several months ago –

Chloé Mini Marcie Bag in brick red

UM – should I be reviewing this…? I don’t know because there’s not much to really say. As you can see it just comes with an Authenticity Card (doesn’t really do much), and a bunch of tags as well as in instruction care booklet thingy. The dustbag is nice – slightly coarse though? But it came with it so w/e. The leather is presumably calf leather and it’s really soft (made in Spain) – the stitching is immaculate and surprisingly, it fits a lot of random crap in there, as there are 2 small slots for you to hide your spare cash or slip in a bus ticket or something. My record (which includes the bag closing properly) consists of: a wallet, mobile phone, keys, a pair of sunglasses (in a soft case), bus tickets, with enough room to also spare a pen and a bunch of post-it notes. Basically, it’s good enough to fit everything you need to basically survive, which isn’t too bad.

It’s lined in a black cotton – I personally like cotton, but it doesn’t feel as awesome as some other cotton linings I’ve experienced in my lifetime. A bit like how I’m a bit like “wtf” with the dustbag – usually you use the dustbag to wipe the bag, but I can’t imagine myself doing that with this dustbag – in fact I’m pretty hesitant to store the bag in the dustbag >_> Anyway, I shall not repeat myself any more.

If I had to say anything bad about the bag, it’d be the fact that the hot stamp is really tiny, and because the leather is too soft (probably thinner than desired), it could crease and lose shape easily. I currently have this stuffed with loads of tissue paper to stop it from deforming. The strap also is too long by default, and if I move it to another part of the strap, I can see the “mark” where the strap used to be – that is something that really pisses me off, so I just left it as it is. I can only hope that I just get used to it – I have a feeling I won’t, but then again that’s just too bad.

All in all, it’s a good bag for a casual outing – nice with a vintage style, sundress, maxidress or with shorts or jeans. Not suitable for work, unless you work a casual job (in other words, I work a preetty casual job myself trololol – I wouldn’t wear this if I were in a corporate job, to say the very least). For those who know me best, I actually really don’t like the colour red (I don’t usually voluntarily buy anything red in colour that is of substantial size – this is what I consider pretty big) – but it beats having a boring black bag or a light coloured bag which would discolout and stain over time, adding on unwanted stress – I’m pretty particular when it comes to bags being dirty, I must have it kept clean or else you’ll see me sitting down with an eraser attempting to get rid of stains for at least half an hour!

Overall, it was worth the buy – price was pretty good for a small bag (generally small bags aren’t cheap at all – my theory is that they do it because it’s harder to get the sewing machine in a smaller space or whatever) so I’m happy. Ticked off the list and that’s about it.

Guilty, oh so guilty.

Apart from watching Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, which is so embarassing it’s good (seriously, just looking at his face, he’s so not 19 years old, but then again, kids these days grow up so fast ._. – but IRL he’s actually older than me, so point proven – I mean, I wouldn’t go around telling people I’m 18… though some people might actually believe it… but then again… eurgh just no), I’ve been watching every live of this performance, and recently they’ve released an MV. I’ve read a variety of lolsome comments in regards to the group (including comments which contained the word “spasm” and perhaps “goddess pose” which really makes me want to snort tea from my nose) and my verdict is I’m not sure if I should take them seriously or not, because well, it could be the same as my opinion as the Flower Boy Ramyun Shop thing – it’s so weirdly bad, it’s just damn good.

I’m genie for you boy – yes, I see what you did there.

They also had a little bit too much fun with the cameras towards the end *side-eyeing*.

Another “guilt” I have at the moment is the fact that I am seriously getting fat. Yes, I’m repeating what I wrote last week, because it has been that long I’ve forgotten what I’ve typed in the first place. By fat, I mean gaining back pretty much all the weight I lost in 2010, in the form of water. Oh, detestable water. I don’t know how it happened (it was gradual at first), but it came back at me so quickly and before I knew it, I was pretty much back at square one. Still slimmer than originally, but seriously, why is it so hard for me to lose weight and have it come back so damn easily?

My next blog post is definitely beauty related (I haz a product which I think is awesome, amazing, must have) and probably I will have a post named, albeit curiously, “bikini ready in 3 weeks”…? Perhaps 2 weeks? IDK. At the moment I’m going through a pretty intense bout of (I know this sounds unhealthy) weight loss pills and a drink. If it works, I will post about it and gloat about it. It seems to be working, but that’s only because I am doing exercise at the same time – so in other words, I’m doing 3 things at the same time, but I actually don’t know which is actually working – perhaps all 3? I don’t know, but I have a feeling I will be able to lose an inch off my waist within a week (I’m almost there and it has only been 5 days).

I’m not a person who likes to endorse lazy ways of losing weight (that’s why I’m still active and I do exercise) – but if it’s a supplementary thing that makes things easier – why not? I’ve realised that I have a problem that can’t be solved with just exercise, because maybe I have slow metabolism, or I need to detox or perhaps I just don’t drink enough water in general for anything to work. Anywho, I will write about it in a few weeks’ time.

Last few words to sum up what I’m doing or not doing –

– NOT going to Kpop Festival 2011

– NOT going to spend any money for the rest of the month (unless sales pop up then UH OH BIG TROUBLE)

– WILL upgrade my phone. On Sunday.

– WILL post again sometime next week.

Until then, whip out your sunnies – Sydney is getting HOT – hope it just doesn’t get any hotter 😦 Toodles!

/gone to watch Flower Boy Ramyun Shop – DUN DUN DUN…

Lol rly poor

So it’s yet another one of those phases where I just keep on expanding my wishlist and adding more crap to my wardrobe impulsively. The fact that almost everything is on sale also really attracts me, even if it’s just to have a look at what’s on sale. I’ll probably need to update my wishlist (I keep saying this all the time but my lazy self never gets around to doing it) and probably stick to it, because I just came across these by chance.

I saw this wallet on the weekend and I really liked it, but didn’t think that I needed a new wallet (lol my wallet was bought with the mindset that it’d last me 10 years – I’ve used it for about 3 years now and it looks still pretty new and ready to use for another 5 years at least). This is a french wallet style but the cool thing about it is that it’s in grainy leather which means it’s probably a lot more durable than the usual softass lambskin that looks sexy but isn’t so practical, prone to scratches and peeling too. What attracted me to it was its size and its simple design, which really is quite timeless even though it’s a seasonal thing. I thought the price was also alright (turns out I saw the price wrong and it ended up being more expensive than I initially thought it was – but oh well lolz) and I did have it on my wishlist once upon a time ago.

After thinking about it for a few days I thought to myself that I should probably get it – at a really good price point and with such a nice design, it’s probably going to sell out really fast and I probably won’t come across something seasonal that looks so timeless and most importantly – like it at the same time.

Before that though I did eye a pair of shoes by Burberry, but I guess they still haven’t arrived in Australia because they’re pretty slow at getting stuff in.

I went to Burberry on Thursday night and did so first because I had no idea what time they were closing, so I had to move pretty fast. After doing a round of the store I realised that it was the biggest sale I’ve seen by Burberry – perhaps I didn’t really notice it before because I never really spent more than 5 minutes in Burberry at their old store, but I was surprised to see 40% off or even 50% off some of their clothing and accessories.

Comes wrapped in grey tissue paper and is sealed with a super sticky Burberry sticker.

I did get a jacket – it’s a quilted short sleeved double breasted cropped jacket (lol what a mouthful)- it’s from the Burberry Brit range (lower price point, “imported” aka made in China but it doesn’t say anywhere on the jacket I GOT A BARGAIN THIS WAS MAKE IN TURKEY – so I guess not all items are from China then :D) but it was on sale ZOMG SALE and it was the last one they had!

It was really cute – biggest problem is that the jacket is only half sleeved, but the pockets are lined in suede I presume wth, they were lined in normal fabric but it’s ultra soft and warm, so I was really happy when I put my hands into the pockets and felt my hands were instantly warmed. It’s also a good colour that will actually match with a casual outfit or even a more formal occasion and it’s really warm.

Another problem is that because it’s the last one it’s actually a size medium which is a bit too large for me. I did buy it with the intention of sharing it with my mum though, so I guess that’s okay – and it is a cropped capeish look so I guess it’s meant to be worn loose.

I’m really happy with this purchase and was really cheerful the whole night because I reckon this was a pretty good buy. HAPPY!

After a super speedy purchase I headed over to Chanel to find the main store was already closed, so I went to Westfield.

Long story short, there was a slight mishap in communication and the SA didn’t know what on earth I was describing, so she was positive I got it wrong because the classic line of wallets (in terms of grained leather) was not in the particular style I was describing. After a bit of research she went to check the stock levels and pulled out a series of drawers with a stash of wallets – and there it was.

So my natural reaction was to point at it and go “THAT’S THE EXACT ONE!!!”

Either way I’m sure she didn’t mean to be so confused, but generally when we have new stock in store, we are pretty sure of what we have (with the exception of watches, since they’re pretty tricky to remember – that’s what I think anyway), so I don’t really know what happened there. She told me that it had just arrived that day – maybe that is the case – but oh well, I saw it on the weekend and I thought about it – came back and my main motive was to buy it. Then again thinking about it, not all of my colleagues actually are familiar with new stock once it comes in if they miss the briefing lol.

The SA then found me a new wallet inside the storeroom so that I didn’t have to take the display one home – and well, I did go to Chanel to get the wallet. I just really didn’t expect it to be such a long winded process – I would have been happier pointing at it and saying I’d take it, to be honest. I give her props for offering to find the model and stock levels to see if they had it even though she wasn’t sure of what I was after – usually in this situation I’d tell the customer it just plain didn’t exist and chase them out of the store LOL. But yeah, she made quite some effort to either (1) find what I was after and (2) offer me something else similar in the event that I got it totally wrong and the model didn’t exist.

But anyway, because it was the first time I’ve bought something from the actual Chanel Boutique, I’ll probably talk about the packaging and product quality in more detail.

My first reaction was that the shopping bags are pretty stingy. It’s the first time I’ve bought something from a boutique with the bag just fitting the item (well okay, the largest LV shopping bag just fits a large bag box but we’re talking about an already huge shopping bag – any larger you can’t carry it properly). You can’t even seal the top of the bag together with tape because the box doesn’t allow you to do so (it’s quite fat and it actually is almost the same size as the bag, so le duh of course you can’t seal the bag); Gucci actually gives you a bag that is slightly larger so that the bag can be sealed – but with Chanel, the bag can’t be sealed. I remember feeling pretty shocked seeing such a small shopping bag. Maybe the next size up is way too large – I don’t know, but oh well, that was slightly disappointing.

After staring at the bag for a while and storing it in my closet, it’s a pretty badass looking shopping bag so it’s not so bad afterall.

That aside though, it comes in the same black box packaging as their sunglasses (in terms of LOOK and consistency – they’re completely two different types of boxes okay), and it’s presented like a gift so there’s plenty of ribbon around the box as well as tying the two shopping bag handles together (hence the extra ribbon). It also came with a small envelope with care instructions in a zillion languages as well as a card hot stamped with their trademark camelia which includes the receipt/ tax invoice. The wallet itself does not come with a dust bag, which was a bit of a surprise (LV does provide a dust cover), but is wrapped with a black feltish fabric and comes with plenty of tissue paper which says Chanel all over it.

The wallet is gorgeous though! The caviar leather isn’t a permanent thing for wallets so it’s a real treat to have a wallet in this kind of leather 😀 (I think that’s why the SA was confused – she told me that wallets rarely come in caviar leather, so when I told her it was a grainy leather she naturally thought it was from the more classic line.) I really like the buckle as well, even though it’s just a seasonal  buckle – but otherwise it’s a pretty simple looking wallet that isn’t tacky. It also comes with the card of authenticity and there’s a serial number on the back of the card which matches the serial number inside the wallet.

Inside the wallet there are 10 card slots (10!!!!) which was WAY more than what I expected. There are also 4 extra slots to slip in the odd photograph or receipt. There’s one bill compartment and at the back there is a zipper (engraved with the logo on one side, the other side engraved with CHANEL) which opens to two coin compartments. Made in France. Should be able to stuff a lot of crap into this so yay P:

The interior is made of some kind of soft leather (probably calfskin to go with the rest of the wallet, but I wouldn’t have a clue – could be lamb but it doesn’t matter) – that overall will shorten the wallet’s lifespan but I can still expect that this wallet will last for ages. The interior soft leather is naturally a bit creased already, but that can’t be helped. Does it live up to its price tag? I’d say yes – this is actually the same price if not cheaper than Louis Vuitton epi leather wallets, which was a huge surprise.

I’m excited to use it! I’ll probably be switching to this soon since it is a new season thing (by new, really really new) so I should make the most of it while it’s still new. I’ll probably switch wallets sometime next year so that I don’t damage this one too much.

I think the best thing about this is that the metalware is all silver coloured so I don’t have to worry about it changing colour.

My overall thoughts on Chanel? Well, there are some (note the wording and usage of “some”) nicely priced items – and by nicely priced I mean competitively priced in comparison to Louis Vuitton or Dior. For now the only other thing I’d consider is Chanel shoes and possibly a few of their accessories – their bags aren’t on my agenda at all. I guess I’d rather spend my money on other stuff for the meantime. To be honest, a part of the reason why I bought this wallet was just to test out what it was like shopping at Chanel (I believe it would happen sooner or later – and it’s inevitable I’d buy something from there – so there you have it – went there, did that), and I must say I felt more satisfied buying from Louis Vuitton in terms of shopping experience – but I think I’ll be more satisfied with owning and using a Chanel product in the long run.

As I mentioned earlier, it turned out more expensive than I remembered it being, but I still thought it was well and truly worth what I paid. That was never really the case with Louis Vuitton – each time I bought something from there I was happy buying it, but couldn’t help but feel it was slightly overpriced. With this wallet, I never thought that way for even a single second, so that’s where the after sales satisfaction comes into play.

For anyone who is asking “geez, when is your shopping going to end?” I’m going to reply, “soon”. I still have a few items to buy on my mind, and after those I’m probably done for the meantime until I have a need to buy more. I’m the type of person to analyse what a brand or store has to offer and I sweep all the things I think are good buys or not so common (I have a tendency to buy pretty uncommon things because I like the idea of not walking out and seeing a zillion people have the same thing). Once I’ve completed the process, I bid that particular store goodbye and promise not to buy from there again LOL. I’m really not a person who likes to buy everything from the one place.

In conclusion I had a really awesome shopping “week” which has pushed my savings to a recent low, lol. I’m leaving any extra shopping for next week – I’ll just see what’s left. If it’s still there and I like it, it means it was meant to be. SMASH is on next weekend, so yeah, it’ll be a “well I’m going out anyway so I’ll just drop by and see what’s on offer” kind of thing.

Other stuff I’m currently spazzing over:

THE GUY WITH THE EYEBROWS AND LOW RASPY VOICE. HE LOOKS FINE IN A SUIT. AGAIN, DEM EYEBROWS!!!

Okay his name is Uram and he’s younger than me *sob* but for some reason he is so strangely attractive ;A; Their leader (dude in fluffy jacket who looks like Karam) is older than me. HELL YEAH. We share the same birthday too, which made me go D: at the screen when I read it (heck yeah I can finally stan a Karam lookalike without feeling like a pedonuna). They also have a rapper who isn’t random – he actually contributes to the song :’D AND IT’S NOT IN ENGRISH. IT MAKES SENSE. Yiruma says they’re awesome, so yeah.

If that fails to persuade you, then… the girl in the MV is hot at least…? ;D

I’ve watched their debut performance on Music Bank a million times already (they did all the background vocals and all, it was hectic) – I shall not spam you with any more videos related to this group, but I’m expecting them to be big (they are under Sony Music after all). I did however lol when I read a comment saying their concept was a mix of some group and Code V and I have to wholeheartedly agree. OH WELL.

Currently also chasing this drama down like a detective. Heartstrings is currently really really really good. I can’t really describe it, but it’s super awesome thus far. I have pretty high expectatioins of this drama and I’m sure it probably won’t disappoint.

I’m currently really digging their soundtrack and I am almost listening to Jung Yong Hwa’s “You’ve fallen for me” on repeat. I actually didn’t really mind him in “You’re Beautiful” but I started to appreciate him more as an entertainer since his epic Running Man episodes LOL. Poor thing though, he really is really thin right now – that episode where he had to look at food but not be able to swallow saliva on Running Man must have been torture to him since he wasn’t even going to eat the meat at all in the first place :\ GG. He’s doing a really good job atm and the music for this drama is wonderful, bravo, excellent etc.

On other drama news I finally finished Youthful Beauty (aka Babyfaced Beauty) and it was an overall really enjoyable drama. Probably one of the better dramas this year that was lighthearted, didn’t drag on and actually made a point about life. I’ve officially given up on Lie to Me because ep 13 onwards drags :\ I think the drama suffered from having a great concept and then prematurely abandoning it leaving a large bulk of episodes to deal with the aftermath (which is nowhere half as interesting at the original dilemma). I’ve also put City Hunter on the side because I can’t stand whatshisface dad. WTF. Worst dad ever. I tried to start Miss Ripley but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue it after watching the first episode – I felt that it was a bit too overtop despite it being a melodrama. So currently I am only chasing Heartstrings lol. THEN IN AUGUST UEE’S DRAMAS WILL BE AVAILABLE. YAY.

On general news about health I realised my calves are at an all time small. YESSSSS. I’ve decided to step up my working out routine (I abandoned it temporarily because I’m pretty dead when I get back home from work). I’ve decided to forget about weighing myself – all I care about is being toned. As long as my water retention problem stays away and I stop having such flabby arms and everything else, I’ll be happy.

So that wraps up this week’s lazy post. Stay tuned next week for I shall promise to put up photos of some sort. Actually I shouldn’t promise – I suck at keeping them so far in terms of blogging :S Until next blog!

Olds – because it’s not news.

Lame title aside, I did mention that I had a lot of stuff to write about – I just never really had the time or effort to properly articulate and organise my thoughts into a coherent post.

Lately I’ve started to draft posts again so that I could publish whenever I needed to. I figured since I had so much time, I might as well put more into blogging.

I’m aware that I’m not publishing things as often as I’d like to – sometimes I feel my blog posts are too short (FYI, I like my posts to be on average 1500 words or longer) and if they’re too short, I usually axe the draft or abandon it for days thinking about how to prolong it. Not the best blogging formula as it leads to boresauce (ie. droning on for the sake of doing so), but I hope I’ll be able to keep you all entertained. Beauty blogs coming and en queue – you just wait and see.

So, I can’t survive a zombie apocalypse with guns, but I could probably survive it growing plants. I think.

I know. Zombies. Again. But we have an internal joke about zombies, so I really do hate them, but at the same time, THESE ZOMBIES ARE SO CUTE. Sort of.

I know this makes me look really noob because the levels of the screenshots are so low, but actually I’ve completed all 50 levels of Plants Vs Zombies and beat Mr Zomboss at the end. I didn’t know it was the last level until the end credits song started playing, so I didn’t get any screenshots of the last level 😦 But if you youtube the last level, you’ll know what I mean!

Look at the determined face on the purple blobs LOL

There are normal zombies, zombies holding screen doors, POLE VAULTING ZOMBIES and zombies wearing ridiculous things like witches hats (also metal buckets too) on their heads. There are actually many more zombies like scuba diving zombies, football zombies, Sudoku addicted reading newspaper zombies, retro disco zombies and from the trailer, they even have zombies in bobsleds >_> Some of the scariest would have to be the gargantuan zombie (which is the zombie version of say, Hulk), and the dolphin riding zombie LOL I dunno why I freak out when those appear. The most annoying ones would have to be the bungee zombies – eurgh I hate them so much.

The game starts with a zombie invasion at your front yard, which then lasts until night time. The zombie attack failed, so they start attacking your BACKYARD (where there’s a pool >__>) and later on they start to invade your roof and try to enter presumably down your chimney.

I played the trial a total of two times – once on my computer and again online, because I realised that if I played online, I could get all the locked plants like the Squash >_> Problem is you need to start right from the beginning and this game is very time consuming. But now that I’ve finished it, it’s okay~ I can now go to sleep in peace knowing that I beat the zombies. YAY. Coming to think of it, I think this is one of the few/ rare computer games I’ve finished right to the end.

The music and sound effects are awesome. The trailer is exactly what it sounds like when you’re playing the bonus levels – so well yeah. Play the trial if you’re interested – or the full version 😛

The game isn’t hard (I mean, I can finish it, so that’s actually saying something >_>),  it’s just time consuming and a bit tricky at times because the zombies come en masse. Well, this kept me entertained for a good… I don’t know, 10 hours (?) these past few days. Possibly less than 10 hours though – I don’t think it took that long, but then again, I can’t remember, because I didn’t play it in one go. Hmmm.

I also had fun playing the mini puzzles and survival games. I got a mass of nightmares after playing the game though. Occasionally when I close my eyes I see zombies on my lawn. Guhhhhhhh.

UEE bb is back and flawless as ever. Also MBC should be ashamed of themselves. ASHAMED.

Said title is referring to this article which was the last of the string of news about UEE’s drama “Birdie Buddy”.

I was praying hoping for Queen of Reversals or whatever it was to finish so that Birdie Buddy could air afterwards, since it was scheduled to replace QoR’s timeslot. BUT NO. THEY DECIDED TO NOT AIR IT?? WHY?? I was actually looking forward to it. MY HEART IS BROKEN AND SUPERGLUE FAILS TO ADHERE IT BACK.

Brb, picking up pieces and heating up glue gun.

Experimentation and a zillion things I want to do

Starting to get worried here – chuckles (not). No, I really am starting to get worried. But you don’t have to mind me – I suspect that I have a high level of paranoia compared to other people, and when I get worried, I get paranoid, and then incessantly whine and complain to everyone and anyone in sight. Bottom line is – please get used to it, k thanks, love you ❤

I better not write about it in detail because it shouldn’t be public lol – will tell people I know in person if I see people (which I’m not doing enough regularly – I think I’m going to go insane soon).

I noticed that I absolutely hate my haircut and again, it’s too long (or too short, if I wanted it to be longer – this length is just soooo RANDOM). I also need a new hair colour but don’t want to do anything in case if it’s too crazy and I need it to be normal… I was originally thinking of Gdragon’s ginger coloured orange, but on second thoughts, I probably shouldn’t. Gosh I hate my hair. This is probably the worst hair I’ve had since 2006. You know the feeling when you get a crap haircut, and then you tell yourself “It’s okay, I’ll straighten it/ grow it!”, then you actually think even after a few days “hey this isn’t so bad when I style it”? Yeah, well, I’m not feeling it. Not once have I felt “pretty” with this hair – but who knows, maybe I just need to straighten it. In other words, I need to get out of the house and be bothered to groom self.

In a way it’s good because it means I no longer look the same as usual (for all of 2007 I had the same hairstyle, and then 2008-mid 2010 my hair was the same :S) but I don’t know if I want to keep the trend. I’d probably punch something if I get this haircut twice in a row.

Just a heads up, the past two occasions I got my hair cut I went to Noble hairdresser on Pitt Street. I was going to review them personally (since my review was based on my mum’s haircut), but I stopped because I had nothing particularly positive to say. Nothing wrong with them, I just have beef with a particular hairdresser – because she’s really really sloppy. I was unlucky enough to get her on BOTH occasions (WHAT WERE THE CHANCES???) and to be frank, I’m petrified of her. My first cut (if anyone remembers) 3 months ago cost me $45 (FREAKING EXPENSIVE considering I’m used to $37 – but that’s how long my hair actually got, CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE? – but that aside, I don’t find it expensive per se – it was expensive because the hair wash was sloppy [what the, only scratching my scalp once…] and the haircut wasn’t great…) and my recent haircut $35 (I requested 10cm to be chopped off) – not expensive either, but if you ask me, I rather go back to KSY and pay $2 extra for at least my hair to be thinned and styled properly. Heck even the hair wash would have been better at KSY :\ – but to reiterate, this isn’t a statement about the salon – it’s a statement about that particular hairdresser! I am thinking of visiting their other branch which is just around the corner – and if that’s third time unlucky, I’m going back to Kim Sun Young, whether I like it or not… :\

So, what’s up in my life? [In more detail]

Final presentation

As I wrote earlier, it was okay. Everyone I bumped into at the end of the day would ask me how it went, and I’d say “okay”, never “good” or “alright”. To me, it was just “okay” and I guess that’s the best way to describe it. I don’t want to go into it any more but it’s over and I think it was okay – so that’s that.

My presentation. Photograph courtesy of my friend, E.

We had a small gathering afterwards with the entire cohort, and I ended up talking to a guy named C whom I’ve never met (though my friend thought we knew). It was a rather interesting experience because I honestly was so isolated and knew so few people – I didn’t know who he was, and he didn’t know who I was either. It was like “huh?!” – this proves how socially isolated we architecture students are :\ Later I saw my friend K who I haven’t seen in quite a while and the first thing he noted was that I was slimmer/ skinnier and he guessed it was because of stress. I told him it was most likely from the exercise I did before – because when I’m stressed, I don’t lose weight – it was 4 years of accumulated stress water retention 😦 (I told him the beginning bit, not the latter obviously)

As I mentioned, we had dinner at a place on Pitt Street named Mr B’s which comprises of alcohol (it’s a bar, restaurant and club), Japanese and Thai food. You need I.D to get in (even if it’s dinner because there’s alcohol being served). I was silly and I ordered 2 entrees – to be fair, one of the ones I ordered looked different in the menu picture. I apologise in advance for the bad picture quality – I was using my phone. I completely forgot to take my camera with me.

My takoyaki – 6 balls of takoyaki for about $7 >_>

The  deep fried fish bits (this was like $8 >_>)

I thought the fish would be a large piece deep fried, but it turns out to be shredded fish *headdesk*. It tasted alright at first, but then when I added the lemon it was so salty and I don’t know what to say. The mains looked really big and awesome though – sort of wish I ordered those instead. But I’d like to go back one day. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is okay – it’s loud though, because there’s a club downstairs, but for a bar/ restarant, the toilets were quite nice and clean.

In conclusion I really enjoyed design studios this year – not necessarily because of the studio itself but the people who make it. How often will you be able to come to class and be able to talk to almost everyone and look forward to seeing everyone each week? How often can almost the entire class go out for dinner after class on not one or two, but several occasions? This is the first time I’ve been in a studio like such, and I truthfully am grateful for meeting and working with every one of you.

Thank you so much for just being yourselves!

Giddiness

Album of the moment: Saint O’Clock – 2AM (I enjoyed probably 70% of the songs on the album, and I’m nostalgic towards ballads, so this album gets to shine in my Windows Media Library playlist)

Song of the moment: Butakhae, My Bus! – Jang Geun Suk (Mary stayed out all night OST Part 1)

Comebacks to anticipate in November: Orange Caramel, Kahi solo, Kara, Big Bang, One Way.

Bringing you back to yesterday: I for You – Luna Sea – this song was the first ever Luna Sea song I listened to. I also told my friend to use this song for her multimedia project in which an apple was rowing a boat. It gave me mega lulz to this day – it’s a pity because it’s a pretty good song LOL. I share the same birthday as Ryuichi from Luna Sea. Just sayin’.

Dramas to watch: Mary stayed out all night – I’ve been waiting for this for a while! It made me want SKKS to end but at the same time I was enjoying SKKS so I was torn. Now that SKKS has ended, it’s best that I enjoy Mary stayed out all night as much as possible! JGS come back makes me uber happy. CANNOT WAIT. On that note, why is Jang Geun Suk so perfect? He’s handsome, tall, can act, AND can sing and has a great personality. I just cannot comprehend. Why do not more men like him exist??? He sings not one, but THREE OST tracks. He is perfect. Purrfekt. AND THIS DRAMA AIRED LAST NIGHT. WOOT! (originally this bolded bit said “aired tonight” but I was a bit lazy and didn’t blog/ publish :S)

As usual, yoinked from Omonatheydidnt

He pulls off the long hair look quite well. Le sigh. Please stay awesome ❤

I am currently suffering from Sungkyunkwan Scandal withdrawal symptoms. Why must it end?! Admittedly I felt that the last episode wasn’t as epic as I had hoped for it to be. Seemed a bit rushed and a bit like “???” but nevertheless it was a good drama and it was fun watching it. Speaking of which, I declared myself a Chunface fan until I noticed that the JYJ album is going for about EIGHTY DORRAH ON GMARKET. Limited edition or not – HELL NO. For the few amount of tracks – you gotta be kidding me. $80 can get me 4 jackets thank you very much. If not, 2.5 (yes, the half is there) coats. OR A CRAPLOAD OF ETUDE STUFF. NO.

Fujifilm Instax Lovers will love this commercial. A hint to all romantic guys out there – do this for your gf and she will SWOON. It’s a bonus if you’re Song Joong-Ki, btw.

Joong-Ki, you are too adorable. Stay precious. And you’re quite pretty too, Byul.

Here is Onew from SHINee being flawless and singing Jay Chou. Unrelated to Song Joong-Ki. I think. But here it is anyway.

Only thing that bothers me is that this clip gets cut short 😦

Forget about Jang Geun Suk, Song Joong-Ki or Onew or anyone for the meantime (including my ridiculous admiration for T.O.P) – this guy is gorgeous sweet amazing baby etc.

Why so lovely? Come to me nao ._. /wrists
Img src: This awesome tumblr

This lovely guy is Noh Min Woo, who acts in My girlfriend is a gumiho. I’m looking forward to his new drama (only 4 episodes where he gets to play a famous rockstar – biography style) which airs sometime this month. I JUST HOPE SOMEONE SUBS IT.

I kid you not, I’ve seen photos of this guy before I started watching My girlfriend is a gumiho (mgiag) but didn’t think of it too much (though he did persuade me to want to watch MGIAG), and I was literally frozen when he came on screen. Why so lovely? It’s not too terribly often that I’m affected by what I see on screen. But this guy is just so lovely ;_; And what’s that? Someone older than me too. I can worship the guy! That way I don’t need to worship idols who are younger than me and feel like I’ve achieved nothing in my life *sadface*. I’ve gotten used to his face and I’m a bit sad he plays the evil dude.

And onto related matters, I am addicted to this song. Best part of the drama is that this song really fits in and makes it so tear jerking 😥 Damn it. I’m turning into a softie.

I felt that a lot of the success of the drama owes it to this song, seriously. Didn’t feel the same way with SKKS’s OST.

Handed in my last ever essay yesterday afternoon

I’m hoping it’s alright because I honestly didn’t have enough time (I also didn’t ask for an extension – my friends did though, but I think that’s sort of cheating because technically you don’t actually need the time, more like you want to have more time so you can hand it in later if you know what I mean). It’s a real pity though because I actually enjoy writing essays more than building computer models of office towers and doing the graphic work (well photoshop is okay, I enjoy that, but I just really don’t like a lot of stuff associated with waiting and then having to edit and the model lags – argh). If I had an extra day or two I’d spend it at the library and gather more information. But for now, that essay will just have to do.

Etude House reviews to come fairly soon

In general, my view on the brand is positive (did I write this already?) – it’s not often that I find products that don’t mess up my skin within a week of use, so I’m fairly impressed. Notonlythatfreebiesaresexy-as in, they seduce/ tempt me into buying. There are some things however which are not as awesome as people have made them out to be. I will go through them one by one. There’s a fact though – I’m definitely an Etude House convert. I have yet to explore their skincare (will do, I have confidence in it) and I’m generally impressed by their makeup.

For those who are still itching to get their hands on Etude House stuff in Sydney, Lovely House Campsie (on Beamish Street – turn left as you exit the train station and keep walking and cross maybe one or two lights – it will be on your left) is closing down this Sunday and they are having 30% off.

Not a particularly awesomezomggonnapeemypants discount, but I’m assuming they’ll be moving most of their nice stock to their Chatswood branch. *shrugs* I’m just posting this here since they went to the trouble to send me 2 SMSes to let me know. As you all probably have guessed by now, I rather buy from Gmarket.

For now, I am going to keep watching My girlfriend is a gumiho and chillax. Today I cleaned out my room – well actually, the living room. It’s quite amusing even though there’s only one photograph taken in regards to it. I’ll be sure to post that up soon. FIVE YEARS OF STRESS OUT THE DOOR. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I feel so lost now. What to do? My poor money supply is going to be cut soon and I will be poor. Very poor 😦 So when I go out with friends and order salads, it will not longer be because I’m trying to lose weight, but because I want to save money 😦 Sigh.

Anyway, that’s it from me now. I’m going to remove my hiatus notice because… I’m sort of back. I still have a thing or two due in, but it’s nothing to stop me from blogging regularly. My next post will most likely be about cleaning up my room – if not, it’ll be an Etude House eyeliner review 🙂

Until next blog! (which will be very soon. Like – tomorrow.)

Oh no, I’ve dug myself into a hole I won’t ever be able to get out of

… that hole is named “Korean pop culture” OTL.

My general well(?) being

My arms are currently lacking energy. My right hand used to hurt to the point I found it hard to hold chopsticks. How did this come about? Holding a knife and hacking through very very thick cardboard. I hope that the time and energy is worth it. I really hope I get this done on time. Cutting it close. But I think I can do it.

At the moment I feel very groggy and I want to sleep. I’ve been having terrible sleeping patterns lately – super tired 😦

Sungkyunkwan Scandal

What is this??? Drama wiki (click)

Allow closed captions for the translations and uncessary translator’s comments 😛

CANNOT. GET. THAT. WINK. OUT. OF. MY. HEAD.

Now I need to find a gif of him doing the air kiss. >_>

This is what I watched over the weekend. It’s currently still airing/ being translated.

If you have seen You’re Beautiful or Hana Kimi, you will enjoy this, provided you can overlook/ endure all the political stuff going on in the background.

If you want a summary of thoughts from someone who can’t read subtitles fast enough or understand what’s going on, my mum has made a string of awesome comments which effectively will reflect anyone’s thoughts on this drama:

  • Their hanbok is cute! (Referring to their hats)
  • IS THAT A GIRL? (Actually, it was Song Joong-ki :S)
  • Everyone is so good looking *_*

The basic premise of the story (I found the online summaries to be a bit misleading) is that a girl (played by Park Min Young) has been dressing as a man (namely taking up the identity of her physically ill brother) to copy books, write novels, and other stuff. By chance she mixes up the person she’s meant to be delivering a pre-written exam essay to, and accidentally attempts to sell the said essay to a super anal guy played by Micky Yoochun. He’s the type of guy to always abide by the rules – no cheating allowed, no rule breaking – he generally only believes in “facts” without contemplating the possibility of other things.

Having failed to sell her test paper she is facing an unwanted marriage with a local Government official who is a shark loaner on the side, since she can’t pay the debt plus the 10% interest. Getting desperate with time ticking down, she attempts to do it again at the retest, only for Yoochun’s character to suggest she actually sit for the exam since it’d be a pity if she doesn’t have an education with her literacy.

Using her brother’s identity, her essay is selected by the Emperor and she is sent to Sungkyunkwan University. She receives money from the book store owner she’s been working for, which is enough to pay her debt. With her student allowance, it appears that all her family’s living expenses are covered, and despite the thought of having serious consequences for lying to the Emperor and entering the school as a girl (SRS CONSEQUENCES), she goes anyway.

At Sungkyunkwan there are a few key characters – mostly it’s divided between “seniors” and “juniors”. The “school captain” figure is an evil guy with an entourage of extremely unattractive sidekicks who do nothing but relentlessly bully the main characters.

The other 2 main characters are played by Song Joong-ki (ie. the guy who winks in the above video clip), who is made of gorgeous and is only 3 years older than me – HAI DERE who plays the promiscuous womaniser with a large stash of illegal books (ie. pron) in his room. He is also the only character who flaunts his wealth by wearing different outfits throughout the entire series, and even claims that “if you steal an accessory from me, you might as well take the matching clothes for it!”.

Flawless pout. Cept face looks a bit strange in the soju campaign – I blame the hair ._. He’s also the guy with UEE in the sports thingy campaign thingy asgsdkljhsd – he was on my harddrive for a few months already without me knowing – I want his varsity jacket. Img src goes to the awesome peeps at omonatheydidn’t

Seeing him in the COOL campaign with UEE makes me like him more lol. He’s so pretty ;_; Though I think he actually looks better with the traditional dress *avoids flying tomatoes*
ONEW LOOKALIKE ANYWAY. AND ONEW IS AWESOME.

The other main character is played by Yoo Ah In, who plays the poor architect internship/ trainee in He who cannot marry who attempts to date the girl next door. He plays the rogueish character of a Government Official who refuses to accept the Government as it is and constantly risks his life to get his message across.

Yoochun is doing a good job – he’s converted me into a fan.

So what’s so great about the series apart from eye candy in terms of girls and guys? The negative is that a lot of bits are slow and unnecessary – school competitions… zzz… bring on the pron cute flail inducing romance scenes already. Jk. Well, the tension of knowing she could get into really big trouble for going to Sunkyunkwan, the possibility of the Yoo Ah In character being captured and gaoled, and the love triangle going on. There’s a lot of “ore wa homo janai!” only unspoken and angsty and in Korean. It’s really quite funny – I can’t wait for the next few episodes to come out 😀 I just hope that the ending isn’t rushed. I’ve seen 16 episodes already and it doesn’t seem to be finishing o_o Yo, it’s only FOUR HOURS of screentime – plz don’t rush it to finish and have a crap ending ;-;

Personal Taste

So I decided to continue to watch this. I personally feel very sorry for Lee Min Ho because he’s still douchey in this, but at least he doesn’t have that mess of a curly mop on his head. I also have a soft spot for architects of course… for obvious reasons *cough*. But seriously – “MR GAY,  YOU’RE THE BEST!” LOL – so gg embarassing. Poor bb.

SHINee – Lucifer (the album, not the song)

WUT IS THIS. THIS IS AMAZING. GO LISTEN TO IT IF YOU HAVEN’T. I’M ALREADY SO 2000 AND LATE LISTENING TO THIS.

Onew… is… flawless. And so are the other boys.

There’s still some facepalm Engrish in this album, but the refreshing tracks make up for it. Best music/ album released in a while apart from 2NE1’s album, seriously.

JYJ – The Beginning

Don’t ask me why. I quite like this song. The other tracks aren’t bad either – esssited. MVs plz.

I made this joke already, but in the song Ayyy Girl there’s a bit too much Kanye West in it, but I guess he’d be saying “Imma let you start” – uhuh. You do that plz.

I wish SME would lay off JYJ and let them release their album already – I’d seriously buy it! Even if it’s just for the photobook :S Nah, I kid, the album is pretty good and I do want to support these guys in some way. I wasn’t really a DBSK fan, but I feel that I need to do something to go against SME. You have SNSD and Suju and they’re pretty much ranked top groups (though I admittedly like neither group that much) and they roll in the money. LEAVE THESE GUYS ALONE >_>

Co-Ed School

I’ve been a bit slow lately but this group debuted fairly recently. The thing I like the best about them is that they have guy and girl members, which potentially makes singing a complete bitch since you have to do extra coordinating with the music, but I do admire their talent. What I hate is their autotune, as their vocal skills are evident in their ballad track. I feel that they’re trying a bit too much to make an image (and I’m not sure what they’re trying to convey) to the point it’s a bit messy. Hopefully though, no autotune no more!

I watched this MV over the weekend and this is the song that has been accused of plagiarising GaGa’s “Telephone”. Sort of. But not really? It’s a really annoying song in the respect after you hear it you’re like “what did I just listen to??” – but as a track on your music player, it’s admittedly not bad, despite all the blasted autotune which people need to stop using.;

Seriously, what??? But song can be catchy if you close your eyes and ignore whatever it is they’re doing or wearing. And ignore the fact it’s infused with MSG known as autotune. May contact traces of nuts. Listen at your own risk – you will either like it or hate it.

=============

That’s it from me for now.

Khuntoria Ep 18 was subbed and is out – hope the next episode is better. This ep was a filler episode and it wasn’t as good as the previous one 😦

Last thing I want to say is… Sasa.com SUCKS ie FAIL. They took my money and they were packing my order and then decided to delay its shipment because they were moving warehouse. I mean, fair enough, but if you’re going to move warehouse, why not… DISALLOW ORDERS OR REFUND MY MONEY SO I DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOU? I’m SERIOUSLY considering taking my business elsewhere. The only reason why I like them is to get my cotton puffs from them, and even so, they limit the number of packets I can buy, which is DISGUSTING. I believe I should be able to spend my money however I like it, and buy as many or as few items as I like!

They have had some great stuff going on, but that’s not the way to do it Sasa. It’s been way too long. Even an email with a courtesy code for a bonus gift with my NEXT order isn’t going to please me. Your samples and freebies are stingy and scarce. I’ve been a consistent customer for the past 3 years or so, and never have I received a cash voucher or anything of the sorts. STINGY. I don’t even know if I want to buy stuff from Sasa in HK if I go to HK!

Oh well, I’ll just wait it out. If my mum is a SK-II convert I’ll have no choice but to stay with Sasa, but otherwise, I’m very disappointed. That’s not very good business ethic, seriously. They are so money hungry they rather make their customers wait and keep the money, than to return money and let customers not worry about it.

Until next blog! The next blog post will come next week. I’ll be in robot mode from now on. See ya!

C-Drama: 倚天屠龍記 2009

From now on I’m going to call this YTTLJ (short for Yǐ Tiān Tú Lóng Jì). If you don’t know Chinese, just pretend whenever I write YTTLJ, replace it mentally with “the drama” 😛

I found out who the chick in the yellow was. And no, she’s not important.

This was a semi-large production and adaptation of YTTLJ (they made two Taiwanese versions actually, the latest being 2003 – and Hong Kong made 2 versions, one with Tony Chiu-Wai Leung in the 70s or 80s, and another made also quite recently which was an interpretation more of an adaptation since they changed the name and probably bits of the plot).

With a really lovely trailer boasting plenty of action, great camera angles and shots, shizzloads of people on the set and a rather nice-ish cast, YTTLJ 2009 really wanted to set itself apart from the others. The trailer basically was screaming out – we are trying to deal with something more spiritual, and we are going to make use of the beautiful landscape in China, and more so, we’re going to portray an (beautiful) accurate-ish adaptation of the story, in a poetic way.

Unfortunately, there were too many downsides with this drama overall.

IMO, it’s alright if this is the first time you’ve seen any YTTLJ. However, for someone like me who has already watched one exceptionally good adaptation (the 2003 version with Alec Su), this wasn’t exactly something that made me open my eyes.

The casting in YTTLJ 2009 is alright. But I put emphasis on alright. I think that the 5 main characters – and in fact, most of the characters overall in the 2003 version were by far superior in looks in relation to their portrayed characters. Maybe with the exception of the stepfather – the Chinese version kind of finds a better one – but that’s only because his acting and the costuming really made him better. Everyone else was really quite dull, to be honest. The evil people were not evil looking enough, and the famous veteran actors/ actresses only had short roles in the series which was a real waste/ pity. I doubt they did it because they believed that they were suited for that role – I think they did it to throw in a familiar face and have you getting familiar with the series, and then withdraw them to cut down on salary costs.

The dialogue in 2009 is also too fiddly. I actually like the character Ju Er (she’s the venomous- literally – cousin of the main guy), but in this version I could barely tell her face was swollen (it looked like they did nothing to her face, really – the 2003 version was different, the poison actually started to make her skin rot due to the swelling). Not to mention, the dialogue is so fiddly with long ass scenes that it got really really annoying. For about 2 minutes she’d repeat the same line OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It’s a bit like a kid in the backseat going “are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?” – and this is not just for Ju Er – her scenes, although fiddly, annoying and repetitive, were condensed into 10 minute blocks throughout the 40 episodes. What really gets me are his scenes with Zhou Zhi Ruo where she would repeat what she said just last episode – and make a disjunction because the main character would react by going “OMG O RLY?? HOW COME?” when… he got told already. Something makes me suspect that they filmed the same scene over a few different locations with some different dialogue, and they reused these to take up more screen time.

The scenes were extremely long. No doubt they have to be long, because the scenes are about hundreds of warriors going against this one man, so he has to defeat them all one by one. However, there’s just too much dialogue and not a lot of fighting. If you compare it to the 2003 version, you’ll realise how long it is. Some of the expressions are changed for the adaptative purpose, however I doubt they are as effective as the ones chosen in 2003.

The director and editor’s choice in their scene portrayal and sequence of events is also quite questionable. Like I said, if you’ve never seen YTTLJ, you wouldn’t have this problem, but for someone like me who knows the story very well (we own both versions), it doesn’t generate any suspense whatsoever. I already know what happens, and who did it – I wanted to see HOW it happened.

SPOILER – scroll past the next paragraph.

For example, the largest turnover of the series is when Zhou Zhi Ruo steals poison from Zhao Min and adds it to the food when Zhao Min happened to be helped out with the cooking. When they’re all sound asleep from the poison, she steals Zhao Min‘s Heaven Sword, the stepfather’s Dragon Sabre and proceeds to use them both at the same time to break both weapons at once. Inside she finds the kungfu manual and a military tactics guide. Ju Er awakes from her sleep and catches Zhou Zhi Ruo in the act, as she is the only one who couldn’t have eaten (she is severely injured). Out of shock, Zhou Zhi Ruo uses a knife and continually stabs Ju Er to death, and slashes her face as a red herring to what Zhao Min once threatened to do to her. She then drags Zhao Min and tosses her into the sea (the Taiwanese version actually shows an attempt to leave the island by making a raft, and Zhou Zhi Ruo sends Zhao Min out on the raft – which enrages everyone as that was their only hope to leave the island. In this version, she is merely tossed out into sea – nor do they attempt to make a raft), leaving Zhao Min to die in the middle of the sea. When everyone wakes up, everyone assumes that Zhao Min was the culprit, leaving Zhou Zhi Ruo in a position to seduce the main character and push all the blame onto someone else. In the 2009 version, you don’t see any of this. In fact, I was hoping for a flashback to this vital scene, but there was none. I was very disappointed because this is the turning point of the Zhou Zhi Ruo character – this is where her self conscience comes into play because she is in love with the main character, yet she has to do what her master told her to do, as her master’s ghost haunts her and forces her into committing her crime.

So unfortunately, the important scenes were glossed over and mostly saved for later as a flashback – but funnily enough, they forgot to do it for the most important scene. Suspense? Not really. It felt like they wanted to mask the evil of the spoiler above.

Anyway, I only managed to really like Zhao Min (played by I think Ady An, who is Taiwanese) and Xiao Zhao (she was always my favourite character in this story, even though her role is small). The main character played by Deng Chao was rather expressionless throughout unless he had to do anything emotional (for example, he did a good job looking happy or sad with tears in his eyes – him being angry is also quite well done, but every other scene not requiring anything fancy, he had the same face pasted on) – so I didn’t paricularly like him at all since IMO he really pales in comparison to the 2003 version.

The scenery was lovely – it gave the drama an ethereal wonderland feel. However, there were 2 flaws – (1) CGI scenes – or rather, architectural models were made and an animation were made from them. It was fake, gave the drama a sense of out of placeness, and they served no other purpose than to tell the viewer where the next scene was set. They were useless and an eyesore. (2) Filming locations were repeated too much. I’ve seen one particular arch I kid you not around 6 times throughout these 40 episodes. It’s like the crew decided to stop by for a day and film all the scenes in one go. One scene was with Zhao Min crawling up the stairs and through her arch after her sea ordeal and looking delusioned, swears revenge upon her enemy. What a USELESS scene! You don’t need that at all.

To praise the good bits however, the scenery was nice, there was a huge budget, and the fighting scenes though scarce-ish, were overall quite good.

However, this really didn’t need to be 40 episodes. If they cut out all the wordy bits and kept it concise, it would have been done in 30 episodes. Longer is definitely not better. Also, they only dedicated 15 minutes in the last episode for the war against the Yuan and Ming dynasty. This was also another turning point because they discover that Zhu Yuan Zhang wanted the throne himself, but it was over in merely 20 minutes perhaps? The first 10 minutes of the episode was of the main character grappling with the girls in a really annoying, wordy conversation. In fact, because of that, it lost ANY meaning for that scene. There was an identical scene in the 2003 version, but it was so moving because you actually get to discover who the main character is truly in love with. This? Pssh. No emotion whatsoever, it was just a filler “must put in scene” but it lacked any substance. The ending was also abrupt, and reminds me of those smart ass endings that TVB sometimes put at the end of a long series that either win or fail – choose one. In this case, it was a fail.

Sorry for the negativity, but I really don’t like this director, his dialogues, nor do I like the recent castings. The music (opening and end themes) sucks. Usually when I see the producer’s name I get so excited because I know there’s something great – but when I realise it’s a director like this, I’m sorely disappointed. Usually I’m glued to the screen for all 40 episodes, but I found myself fast forwarding through the last 2. There was nothing to really keep me wanting to watch this apart from wanting to get to the end.

I posted the same trailer in the other post. But that’s just there for your reference.

Until next WTF drama blog!

It’s MOO TIME

This morning I woke up at about 8am because some idiot upstairs went onto the balcony and started chuckling madly. Woke me up. Argh.

Anyway, today was my mum’s dentist appointment and luckily enough, I was allowed to go with her. I decided that today would be the day to buy my Juicy flip flops. YAY!

The problem was that by the time I got there a lot of the sizes were gone. Most were only size 8, 9, 1o, 11 and some were even last pairs D: Back in those days when they first landed in Sydney, they were $60 a pair and I cringed so badly about spending that much on a shoe that wasn’t even a sandal (I still think that these days, actually) – but now they are $80. I have to give in because they will never go on sale, and the sizes go so incredibly fast it’s ridiculous. When I showed them to my mum, she agreed that they were much better quality and make than the ones that were selling to begin with though. Not much to choose from – there was only one design that had any size left, so I got it.

Despite the ribbon thingy covering the platformish bit looking a bit funny, I prefer it to look crisscrossy rather than a “CHOOSE JUICY” printed on the side.

The flip flop I bought is called “CLEVER” (haha, get it?? ._.) and I got it in brown. According to the black flip flop there’s a navy available, but it wasn’t on display and I didn’t ask for it. I probably would have preferred navy, but it’s alright. Brown is awesome.

As usual, with my awesome Juicy luck, I was the only person to have ever tried these on. I know this because at the time when the guy came out with these, the tissue paper was still on the charms and ribbon. This is a size 6 by the way. But yes, it seems that I always get to buy Juicy shoes and be the only one to have ever worn them. How awesome is that?! I don’t have to worry about other people’s feet’s sweat germs. Now that sounds pretty gross XD

These are ridiculously soft and comfortable though. Plus I love Juicy tissue paper. That’s another sheet to add to my collection >:3 This box isn’t as nice as the other box I’ve gotten though. But it’s compact, and I can’t complain.

I started liking these flip flops ever since I saw a girl wear them on a bus. I liked the fact that Juicy could make a flip flop so elegant, and it was definitely the ribbon and charms that did it. Not to mention, if you watch He who cannot marry, Kim So Eun (Jong Yujin) wears Juicy-ish flip flops for the entire series. Such a casual but sweet look.

KAWAII! How can I resist? I love their charms. Everything else by Juicy however, I don’t really like because they’re just overboard. I like their shoes though >:3

Pretty padlock charm. I’d reuse these charms if these flip flops ever die on me. They’d better last a good 5 years before that happens though.

Feels weird since they are somewhat platformish. Hopefully I conjure up the guts to wear these out since I did buy them already.

Three Kingdoms drama adaptation should hit the shelves of pirated DVD stores in Chinatown after the 20th February or so, as Chinese New Year celebrations are currently underway overseas (and as a consequence has halted pretty much all work in general).

That reminds me that I still have to review The Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre 2009, which was IMO full of vomit. I’ll be back in a few hours with that.

-*-*-*-

We were in Market City and my mum dragged me into a store that I used to buy shizz from but stopped doing so because they started to only sell their own branded clothes. Seriously, I only liked them because they stocked K*2 Factory clothes. (NB: K*2 is a premium streetwear brand that is popular in Hong Kong with highly exhorbitant prices. Seems like they changed their clothing a lot in the recent years – back then it was pretty hard out, I must say – they sell K*2 on Yesstyle now, but eurgh, the stuff looks awful compared to what I remembered seeing in their store.)

I was looking at a pair of ripped leggings that looked kinda cool (just to check the price) and they were $35 (without any discount). However, I also managed to cut myself with their coat hanger. NOOB. Great way to start the day at 10:45am.

It’s actually nastier in real life since I didn’t touch up the colours. And yep, it did start bleeding but just barely.

Now it looks like I made an unsuccessful attempt to cut my wrist. Hmmm. Let me reassure you, do not try this at home. I was annoyed even though this was a scratch. Just DO NOT TRY IT AT HOME – OR AT ALL FOR THAT MATTER.

Something tells me that I’m not gonna walk into that shop for a long while. Hopefully not ever. We only liked that store because they had a $10 storewide sale a few years back because they were going to renovate. I mean, K*2 SKINNY JEANS FOR $10?! YOU’RE KIDDING MEEEE – a mini skirt that covers half your ass is about $500HK (that’s about $90AUD) – let alone a pair of full length pantsssssssssss! It was a one off thing though. I should have bought the entire store at the time. :\

-*-*-*-

Onto other matters, I’ve finally been changed to the new Facebook interface which seemingly looks more simple but actually takes dog vomit amount periods of time to load. Hmmm.

Searches!

I’m not going to reply them in full, because they’ve been answered in my other “How did you find me?” posts. This is just a selection of awesome searches that I got in the past, I dunno, 2-3 days. So if you landed on this post and didn’t get your answer, be sure to search my other posts (type in miketsu *your search here* into google and if there’s an option to show more results from my blog, click that. You’ll find your answer in no time ;)).

lovigan – OMO!! AGAIN!! ❤

so ji sub naked – I love this search. If you find leaked naked images, please come back and share the link with me? PLEASE?! But anyway, check out the OMONATHEYDIDNT livejournal, or find my So Ji Sub hotness post. I linked to a site with raunchy images >:3

gu jun pyo impersonation youtube – as far as I’m concerned, Hongki of FT Island did a BOF parody. The other impersonation I know of is done by mychonny (or was it on the yourchonny channel? Hmmm) on Youtube – grab the link from the side. I can’t remember which video it was, but it was one of the last 5 he did.

zipia jeans size, zipia jeans – they are true to size. Measure a pair of pants that fit that you own and measure across the top and times by two. Or if you know what pant size you are (in inches), it should be the same. PS: they’re very comfortable and excellent quality.

$1 nail polish sydney – you can get (cheapest) for $2.50? 😀 As far as I know, I’ve never seen $1 nail polish unless they’re tiny. You can try Paddy’s Market.

park shin hye fanfiction – try www.soompi.com/forums/ You need to be a registered member to read the Fanfiction section. PSH fanfiction sounds kinda… nm 😡

gucci designer killed – that sounds awful Dx

fake burberry brit sheer ebay – I have no idea 8D Burberry Brit Sheer is a limited edition item. If it’s still at retail RRP, then it should be real (because I still see a lot of places still selling it here in Sydney) – but if it’s cheapish, then stay away from it. Limited edition fragrances rarely dip below RRP. But I don’t really know. Usually they tend to bump up the price a little – but it’s probably not as popular as some other limited edition fragrances around. I STILL LIKE THE PINK BOTTLE. But oh well, it’s in better hands now ❤ Anyway, wild digression – I’ve been meaning to make the point that with “cheaper” prices (not really possible since it’s Limited Edition), just buy it from a shop. That’s the safest bet!

so jisub feet size – are you a fan who wants to buy him shoes when you see him in person? This search sounds rather perverse…
But yeah, his feet do look quite large. Maybe a size 12? I know someone of similar height with size 12 shoes, but I have absolutely no idea.

mc hotdog dirty – very. Very. His lyrics, anyway >:3

kinokuniya slimming foot patch – I get confused if this search intended to be for a foot patch that will slim you down, or a patch worn to slim the foot (there’s a difference, hehe). I think I know what you mean (the foot patch that slims you down), and no, I don’t think Kino sells them. They used to sell them at Maruya for $2.50 per pair of foot patches. However, they’re bogus and they don’t do anything really. If you really want to slim down, do exercise.

mizuya karaoke sydney prices – my friend J went to eat at Mizuya. This image is courtesy of him.

PWNED!

That aside, the prices look fairly reasonable and standard. I’ve heard mixed reviews now – J said it wasn’t that great, but it was sort of alright as a snack/ karaoke place. My friend D said his sister went and really liked it. Guess it depends? Note that J is in his 20s (23ish?) whilst the little sister is probably 18, 19. As you know, our food tolerances get stricter as we’re older.

Until next blog! (which I’ll be reviewing vomit drama)

*chuckling silently at keyboard*
